MOSSING FOR GOLD

A simple answer; The collection of Gold from Moss Beds along a waterway
What do I need to do Mossing???
Small hand trowel, scraper or knife, gold pan, snuffer bottle.

Okay, what do I do???
Go to the High water mark areas of a waterway, locate the Moss bed then using your knife or scraper. Gently cut the Moss from the Out lying Bedrock and place it in your Gold pan. Then head down to the water and gently wash out the Moss in your Gold Pan. All thats necessary from there is to pan out the material that has collected in the Moss.

Why is Moss so important???
Because it acts just like the carpet in your Sluice box or Dredge.
Moss is a natural collector of fine Gold, in some cases it proves to be Richer in Gold Content than the Waterway it borders.

Remember one thing, replace the Moss where you originally found it [if at all possible].
It will grow back, as long as you work with it in a gentle way.
You may think thats NUTS, but look at it this way. If you destroy it, it takes along time to grow back. So why Destroy a Natural resource that yields Gold. With a little care and concern you can go back to those Moss Beds over and over thru the years.
